If we get olive oil by squeezing olives, and corn oil by squeezing corn, where do we get baby oil? Hmmm...?

I had to chuckle when I read your question, my first laugh of the day and I needed one.If we get olive oil by squeezing olives, and corn oil by squeezing corn, where do we get baby oil? Hmmm...?
from killing harmless baby dolphins and seals :-(If we get olive oil by squeezing olives, and corn oil by squeezing corn, where do we get baby oil? Hmmm...?
jeez...like six people have asked this question today alone...hmmmm?
Ha! My dad was telling me that the Gerber baby food company sent a bunch of baby food to Africa a few years back. The illiteracy rate is pretty high there, so instead of having names on the products they just put pictures (so canned corn would have a pic of corn on it). Imagine the confusion when all this baby food shows up with a pic of the baby on the front!

We get olive oil by squeezing olives and since it's used for babies, it's called baby oil.

Olive Oil Shampoo vs. Coconut Oil Shampoo?

Which type of shampoo is better for relaxed hair? Shampoo with Coconut Oil, or Shampoo with Olive Oil?Olive Oil Shampoo vs. Coconut Oil Shampoo?
Coconut would probably be better-- very moisturizing, acts as a fungicide, and it smells better!Olive Oil Shampoo vs. Coconut Oil Shampoo?
olive oil? Sike. coconut..

I would go with Coconut oil. Both olive and coconut have great nutrients for the hair, but coconut also has fiber, which is amazing. Plus it smells great!

  • Real olive oil or not?

I bought a bottle of olive oil in a small grocery store last week. Ever since then I am suspicious of the authenticity. Is it real olive oil or fake olive oil. For a start, it does not smell the same as my old bottle of olive oil, which I bought in A%26amp;P, a very big grocery chain (which in my mind is less likely to sell fake olive oil). The new one does not smell at all, while the old bottle has a distinctive smell. Secondly the price is 7 dollars for a liter for the new one, it is too cheap to be real olive oil, isn't it? Throw it away or keep it? Real olive oil is healthy and good for the heart and cholesterol ratio, there is no point of using non-real olive oil, is it?Real olive oil or not?
I wouldn't think some company would claim it was olive oil if it wasn't. It is probably just a very cheap oil and one from the last pressing of the olives.Real olive oil or not?
Your A%26amp;P olive oil was extra virgin. That is good for making salad dressings and marinating meats.

Your current bottle is regular olive oil, which is good for sauteeing.

Regardless, it still has the same health benefits.

Does olive oil have a smell?

Yes, but the lighter oil the less odor there is. There would be a huge difference in aroma between the extra virgin and the soap grade.Does olive oil have a smell?
Absolutely. It's a very light smell, and sometimes I can only smell it when it's cooking. The cheap brands don't smell as strong though (they also don't taste as good).Does olive oil have a smell?
I just smelled some, and it has very little scent...i never noticed it but to the answer of you question, yes it does.
Not really..maybe it has a faint smell.
not really if you buy quality
    To me it doesn't.

Does Olive Oil Help Hair Grow?

It may not help your hair grow, however it's really deep conditioning and can stop your hair breaking out of dryness, and no breakage means it'll definitely be gaining length! =D

It nourishes the hair, and if you heat a little and put it in your hair, then wash out in the morning you'll have beautiful soft conditioned hair for ages.

Also, scalp massage increases hair growth rate, including if you massage your scalp with oilsDoes Olive Oil Help Hair Grow?
Yeah, but you have to drink about 2 cups of it per day to get any noticeable effect. It's also a good idea to drink eggs (raw of course - make sure to get the farm-fresh ones, so you don't get sick). You can mix the eggs with the oil, if you like.Does Olive Oil Help Hair Grow?
It does not help your hair grow from the scalp, but it does repair damaged hair, among other things. This can keep your hair from breaking off, which leads to retaining more length.
never tried that but carrot oil does, you can get it at holland and barret (:
i don't think so... but i've heard coconut oil does...
    no
    yes it does

Olive oil? never heard of that one. Why can't you use a leave in that is made for dogs. seems like it would make the dogs coat a magnet for dirt.
I've never tried or heard of this. Sounds like it would just make the hair oily %26amp; that dirt would stick to him like crazy. Seems like he'd leave little oily spots where he sat or layed down too. I dunno about leaving it in.
No, I don't think this is a good idea. It will only attract dirt etc.

Buy an all natural conditioner for the coat, one that rinses out.

Does olive oil clog your pores?

this ';nurse';that I was buying Mary Kaye from, told me that olive oil clogs your pores, I think she said that because I told her that's what I use on my face as a moisterizer but she wanted me to buy her product..is she telling the truth?Does olive oil clog your pores?
I use olive oil... And when I changed over to one of the over-the-counter moisturizers that are ';designed'; for the face I broke out like crazy. So the short answer is.. No.Does olive oil clog your pores?
I think that you should trust your own judgement a little more.....sales people are not always truthful.
olive oil is good for you
I would say no because my moisturizer has olive oil in it and i use natural homemade soap that has olive oil in it it also has avocado in it and seaweed it is the best stuff i have ever used my skin is great ppl always tell me i have nice skin. If your skin looks good keep on using it.
No it doesn't it may be heavy which could sit in your pores. If you want a good light moisturing oil use almond oil. I use it, directly on skin or in the shower. I put my sister on it as well when she was pregnant and ended up with no stretch marks. My masseus uses it too. She uses it in my newphews bath and with cradle cap. The best thing about it as well is that it is loaded with almond oil which has the omega oil benefits.

    Will olive oil hurt hair?

i heard that olive oil is good for your hair, but when i asked my mom she told me that it burns your hair follicles, is that true? if its not then how do i use it; on dry or wet hair and for how long? Will olive oil hurt hair?
Olive oil is good for your hair as long as you do not use a hair dryer or iron.

Cover your dry hair with olive oil before bed, rinse out in the morning, let dry naturally.

Safflower Oil is also good for your hair ...

    For Dry Hair:

Hair normally has a moisture content of approximately 10%. If your hair鈥檚 moisture content drops below this level the key is to increase the hair鈥檚 ability of attract and retain moisture. This is accomplished by using moisturizers. Good one have ';humectants'; that not only replace lost moisture but actually attract moisture and retain it in the cortex of the hair. Essential fatty aids (EFA鈥檚) are great moisturizers. One of the best and most cost effective essential fatty acids is safflower oil. It is the kind you can buy to cook with. It is rich in EFA鈥檚. The scalp produces the best EFA鈥檚 called sebum. The problems is once the hair grows past the neck line or does not have direct contact with the scalp the scalps natural oils can not be utilized throughout the hair shaft. At this point you can manually replace the lost EFA鈥檚 by:

Placing 1 or 2 drops of safflower oil in your palms and rub them together.

There should only be enough to make your hands ';shine'; in the light.

Carefully take your hair (while dry) and ';scrunch'; the small amount of oil to the ENDS first and work toward the scalp.

    Leave this in your hair.

1-2 drops of safflower oil on dry hair is so small, you won鈥檛 notice it is there. By doing the above as often as necessary, will ensure your dry hair will have the proper amount of humectants to attract and retain moisture. The key is a small amount will go a long way. Will olive oil hurt hair?
NO! Olive oil is really good for your hair.

You just put some on your dry hair (if it's wet the oil wont stay since oil and water don't mix) and leave it in for 陆hour - 1hour
Olive oil is really good for dry hair!!! Put some on dry ends for half an hour, twice or 3 times per week!

    Olive Oil or Caster Oil?

I heard that one of these two things can work to make your eyelashes longer and thicker, but I need to ask some things. Which one is better and if Olive Oil is your choice can you please go into detail such as is it the Olive Oil you use for cooking or a beauty brand? And what sort eg. 100% Olive Oil or Extra Virgin? P.S I live in Australia so the shops and brands may vary from yours.Olive Oil or Caster Oil?
Omega 3 fish oil is actually the best and vitamin E, but between your 2 choices probably olive oil.

For this Ensalada you have all of the ingredients. Mind you I use a lot of roma tomatoes, however, not in this salad. I use vine ripened tomatoes or heirlooms, if I can afford them) but a round tomato works better for me and has more juice. I simply slice the tomatoes, not too thinly, slice the mozzarella, and circle a salad plate one slice tomato one slice of the cheese then another slice tomato and so forth to join the circle and tomato %26amp; cheese slice in the centre. Tear some basil leaves over it with a little salt (I use table salt) and fresh cracked black pepper and drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and it's done.

    Tuscan Tomato and Bread Salad

    1/3 cup red wine vinegar

    2 shallots, minced

    4 garlic cloves, minced

3 tablespoons minced herbs, such as Italian parsley, oregano, marjoram, chives, or a combination

    Kosher salt

    Freshly-ground black pepper

4 cups day-old Italian bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

1/2 cup black oil-cured olives, pitted and sliced

    1. Place vinegar, shallots, and garlic in a medium bowl and set bowl aside for 20 minutes. Stir in olive oil, lemon juice, and herbs. Taste and season with salt and pepper.

    2. In a large bowl, toss together the bread and mozzarella. Pour two-thirds of the dressing over, and toss again. Set the bowl aside for 30 minutes. Add the tomatoes, olives, and remaining dressing, and toss thoroughly. Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve immediately.

Serves 4 to 6.I've seen the salad before...it's got fresh mozz, fresh basil leaves.roma tomatoes, drizzled with Olive Oil.....
it's caprese salad it's simple... some mozz., basil, tomatoes, %26amp; olive oil. just like you said.
It looks like the ';Insalata Caprese';. There are many variations of this salada throughout Italy and of course the world, but according to my Jamie Oliver book ';Jamie麓s Italy'; you need mozzarella di bufala campana (easy to find), basil, tomatoes-will work with the ones you have where you live-, and extra-virgin olive oil. You can also add a little balsamic vinegar. You of course also need rocky sea salt and black pepper. The order in witch you season it will affect your final product though.

If this is the salad you are talking about, you can e-mail me and I麓ll be glad to give you the proper way to make one (it麓s very easy).

They could just squeeze the babies, but I guess the govn't doesn't like that idea. This way ^ is too complex.
Most ';baby oils'; are primarily made of mineral oil. To make mineral oil, gasoline and kerosene are removed from crude petroleum by heating, in a method call functional distillation. By using sulfuric acid, applying absorbents, and washing with solvents and alkalis, hydrocarbons and other chemicals are then removed.

Caprese salad. You have the ingredients. I love it too.I've seen the salad before...it's got fresh mozz, fresh basil leaves.roma tomatoes, drizzled with Olive Oil.....
add balsamic vinegar ,if concerned about colour use white balsamic, also add a touch of sea salt and fresh ground pepper.
A spin on this also makes a great appetizer. Use the larger cherry tomatos. Hollow them out, wrap a piece of mozzerella in the basil leaf and stuff the tomato. Drizzle the tray with the oil and vinegar, and salt/pepper.
Caprese it is. In many restaurants they will drizzle just a bit of balsamic as well, though I understand that in Italy the tradition is only olive oil. A bit of coarse salt will bring out the flavors in the tomato too. Use good mozzarella. This is one of my favorites too.
    A sprinkle of oregano.

Why dosent peanut oil burn as fast as olive oil.?

Peanut oil withstands higher temperatures without burning or breaking down. It has a high flash point (282 degrees Celsius) which makes it ideal for deep frying.

    Olive oil soap for babies?

I was given a gift of Olive oil soap from Greece and then I started thinking about using it on my 3 month old. I use olive oil on his skin after his bath, but what about bathing him with olive oil soap...would that be just as good for him. Im currently using Johnson's baby wash. Which would be better?Olive oil soap for babies?
yes either is fine. you should also try using goats milk soap, it's ideal for baby skin as well as another natural soap like patchouli and yellow clay. they are suited to sensitive skin and recommended to use on baby's and small children. you can find some really good soaps online at Bubbles Corner Natural Soaps and Bath Products. All handmade stuff tooOlive oil soap for babies?
either is fine i would say the olive oil is slightly better for his skin as its more natural than the chemicals in Johnson's baby wash
The following liquid soap formula will provide you with a creamy soap. This creamy soap can be used just as it is or if you want it liquefied, and then add more water gradually until you have the texture that you want. The creamy soap gives you a bit more control over the soap since it does not instantly run down the surface 鈥?or baby 鈥?on which it is put.

Different Liquid Bases For This Recipe

As with any homemade liquid soap, you can use a cup of herbal tea as the liquid base for the soap, although this is not suitable for babies, for whom you want to create a pure liquid soap without any ingredients that could be irritating. Suitable teas for addition to this recipe include black tea and green tea. Other suitable and skin friendly liquids include a cup of coffee or cocoa (without either the sugar or milk) as the base liquid. You can make your own mild herbal liquid soap recipes according to the herbs, which work for you.

The Mild Liquid Soap Recipe With Added Olive Oil

The following recipe for homemade liquid soap will provide you with about a cup and a half of liquid soap. Recycle a suitable container for this mixture. Use a scoop to avoid getting your fingers or any moisture in the mixture because this will prolong its shelf life. If you notice any change in its natural scent, throw the mixture away and make a smaller batch the next time. Without the olive oil, this mixture makes an excellent gentle laundry wash.

    Ingredients

    1 cup Water or Tea

1 regular sized bar of Natural Soap

    1 T Olive Oil

You can use any vegetable, fruit or nut oil or butter as long as you are sure there are no sensitivities to it.

    Directions

Grate or thinly slice the bar of soap. You can use fishing line or a knife to cut through the soap carefully. If you do not mind waiting, you can also just plunk a bar of soap in the water and wait until the next day when it should be soft enough to blend into the water. It is quicker to add small pieces of the soap to hot water or tea though.

Bring the water to almost a boil in a small saucepan on the stovetop or in a microwaveable bowl in the microwave (1 min. at a high temperature or longer depending on the microwave). Add the olive oil and the grated or sliced soap. Stir the soap or use a hand blender or food processor to quickly melt and blend the soap into the hot water.

If you are using herbal tea, make a cup of tea as usual only double or triple the amount of tea. Steep the tea for 10 or 15 minutes. Remove the tea bags and add the olive oil and grated or sliced soap. You can reheat this mixture if too much heat is lost while waiting for the tea to steep.

This is a versatile recipe that can be used by every member of the family. The olive oil works to prevent the soap from drying out sensitive skin. The creamy texture makes this formula usable as a natural shower gel.

    what is it? lol

    Olive Oil or ApHOGEE products?

I starting my hair journey next week and i would like to know what products would work better on my hair and what products do you recommendOlive Oil or ApHOGEE products?
I'm not sure what you mean by ';hair journey';, there are a variety of products on the market that work well. Personally I am not a fan of a lot of oils on the hair because they weigh my hair down and it looks very greasy/oily. So unless you have unusually dry, brittle hair, you don't need a lot of oil.

You should always use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, and a light pommade when you style your hair. A deep conditioner once a week helps keep the hair moisturized.

I use the Aphogee reconstructor, but I was not pleased with their shampoo. I have never used the Olive Oil products, probably because I'm very happy with the products I do use. I always tell people to check out the Aveeda line of products. I'm a big fan of Paul Mitchell, Nexxus, Rusk, and even Garnier Fructis. Really, it's what works best for your hair, and it's trial and error before you find what works best for your hair.Olive Oil or ApHOGEE products?
You can use both. I haven't used Aphogee in years and it never worked well on my permed hair, and I have no plans to use it on my natural hair. I use mainly natural butters and oils on my hair. Shea butter and mango butter I use. I use shea butter when I want lasting moisture and it also makes my skin soft. I use mango butter because it's light on my hair and it also makes my skin soft, lol. I use pure olive oil for baggying and sealing in moisture. I also use jojoba oil for the same thing. There are different natural butters and oils you can use and you can find some oils in your grocer's cooking isle, like grapeseed oil - they are MUCH cheaper than buying online.

My hairdresser also recommended to me curl activator. It has all the ingredients your hair needs to be healthy and retain moisture. It keeps your hair curly and gives it all day moisture. The only problem I had with it was it was a bit greasy, but that could be the kind I bought (Hawaian Silky (cream) Curl Activator and it had a nice sweet smell to it. Many naturals swear by S-curl, but there are many you can choose from.

Right now, I use the BioInfusion line of products that are exclusive to Walgreens. They have organic shampoos and conditioners that won't dry your hair. I use their Olive Oil deep conditioner and their Olive Oil hydrating creme. I also use their leave-in. So far, I haven't found anything better and I've spent money on different kinds of products, mostly those used for perms and I've found they don't work well on my natural hair - too much build-up and none of them helped to define my curls. Many naturals also swear by the Panteen Natural and Relaxed line of products, but I haven't tried it. As a natural be prepared to spend money on many products until you find something your hair loves.

The products you use will depend on your hair type. Right now I have a combination of small 4ab coils and some looser 3-type coils. The 3 hair responds better to light moisturizers like mango butter, but the 4a hair needs something heavier and sometimes I find the 3 hair is hard from the heavy products. Or, the 4a hair is very dry from the light moisturizers. You can also mix natural oils and butters as well as mix them with your other products like shampoos and conditioners. I mix a little jojoba oil in my conditioner, deep conditioner, and leave-in for extra moisture. I also add jojoba to my daily moisturizers, too.

Congratulations on going natural, I've been natural for about 3 months.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil vs. Grapeseed Oil?

Which is better to use on your face as a moisturizer, EVOO or grapeseed oil? I currently use EVOO %26amp; I like it, but I'm curious to try grapeseed oil since I hear it's also good for the skin. Anyone out there try it? I'd really like your opinion. How do you like the smell, is it greasier or lighter than olive oil, does it absorb faster into skin? Thanks!Extra Virgin Olive Oil vs. Grapeseed Oil?

Olive oil to improve skin? ?

I've just read into using olive oil to get glowing skin and I have a few questions. Does anyone know if this actually works? Also, how much do you need to apply and how regularly? Does it make spots worse, I have an oily t-zone? Please help xOlive oil to improve skin? ?
Olive oil on the skin is incredibly useful, but never leave it on greasy. That only makes things worse. Rather, apply it and rub in gently until you skin isn't shiny, but smooth and soft, then take a gentle soap and gently wash it off. Remember, olive is a heavy oil and will clog pores if left on like lotion. Turns rancid and yikes!Olive oil to improve skin? ?
i suggest to go for some home remedies that will make your skin glow, bright and fresh and also promises an enhanced complexion...

as u havent specified yo skin type,u ve to choose from these wot all will go well on your skin..

    1) take 2-3 teaspoons of rice powder and mix it in orange juice (sufficient amt so dat u get a smooth paste).apply it all over your face and neck n let it dry.wash it off with orange juice itself.it makes your skin glow, renders complexion, acts against pimples, removes black n white heads if any as rice powder s a good scrub..this is good for any skin type

    2) apply baking soda on wet face using circular motions and you鈥檒l be amazed how soft your skin is going to be afterwards!

    3) make a mixture of 1 tsp brown sugar and 2 mashed strawberries. brown sugar will remove dead cells and strawberries are going to make your skin baby-soft..

    4) 1 tsp olive oil ( cold pressed ) and 1/2 tsp sea salt applied gently to a wet face will not only remove dead cells, but it will also improve micro-circulation.olive oil is going to nourish the skin, leaving it incredibly soft..
Yes, but only if you have dry skin, or on dry areas of skin. Don't apply it to an oily T-Zone, as adding more oil will worsen it. If your cheeks are dry, just apply it there.

It's a raw, natural product, which nourishes your skin better than any man made product. But it's pure oil, so put a pea sized amount on your finger and rub it in. If it's shiny, you've applied an excess.

If your skin is very dry, apply it every day, morning and night. If your skin is slightly dry, do it once a day or every other day. For normal skin that's prone to occassional dryness, apply once weekly.

In Mediterranean countries, it's traditional to massage it into your skin to combat the drying effects of the sun.
    no use fish oil

Olive Oil hair lotion....Safe for caucasian hair?

I am caucasian however, I have slightly kinky hair. It dries out easily. I purchased olive oil hair lotion. Is this specifically used in African hair or will it be ok for me to use.

I was curious before I put it on b.c I know some products specific for african hair can be too moisturizing for caucasian hair.

    Thank you for your help.

Also what amount should I use?

:)Olive Oil hair lotion....Safe for caucasian hair?
It should work fine. Apply a quarter-amount to your DAMP hair (use more if your hair is longer). Put a plastic cap over it, and go to sleep. In the morning, RINSE it out (dont shampoo or condition- just rinse) and your hair will be super silky :)

    Olive oil or egg whites?

which is better? for hair.Olive oil or egg whites?
egg whites mostly because its cheaper then olive oil and also because your head produces natrual oils and to add more oil would look very gross and well oily if u have a dry scalp that would be bect to use oil but otherwise i sugest notoh and also because oils as heavy as oliveoil usually stun growthOlive oil or egg whites?
olive oil helps with dried out over processed hair.
I would go with shampoo. But i heard mayo works well, which is kinda nasty.

    Self-explanatory :)

I've been massaging olive oil into my face for the past like 5 nights and so far my tone has improved...but not so much my acne. What do you think? I'm trying to get a beautiful skin tone, much like that of a Japanese person because they have some of the nicest skin that I've ever seen! :)Olive Oil help with skin tone, de-aging, and acne?
Hi. I've been using a face cleanser product by DHC. It's olive oil based. I LOVE it. I think it is mostly olive oil with a tweaking of something else.

When I run out I will just get a good quality oil from the grocery store.

Any way...The acne problem, I noticed that I'm getting quite a few extra pimples too. I've started using the oil every other or every three days. The problem has gotten much better.

But wow, isn't your face much softer and healthy looking? What a discovery! :)

    Olive oil and dry skin

Do I literally take olive oil from Costco or anywhere else and just rub it on my face? I just want someone to confirm this before i try it..thanksOlive oil and dry skin
Buy extra virgin olive oil only for dry skin. IT WILL NOT clog pours! Now the extra virgin live oil is cold pressed so it keeps all of it's nutrients and is a natural source of vitamin e and it kills bacteria as well. After you wash your face test a small amount to be sure you aren't allergic and then put all over face and leave it until it dries if you are staying home and if you are going out leave it for a little while and then wipe it off with a clean towel.

I live in the desert and my skin gets so dry my face will get white and flaky if I don't do this. This oil makes skin the perfect texture and it feels healthy all day. Also there a new report that olive oil has prevented skin cancer in some lab mice that already had skin cancer.

Edit: bigmonke is right about the green tea as being good. I never tried it for skin, but green tea can penetrate dna and protect it from free radicals that cause cancer and other problems.Olive oil and dry skin
I wouldnt. It can clog pores and cause brakeouts. I wouldnt risk it. For dry skin green tea works great along with aloue and gold bond. Try exfoliators and toners with aded mosture. Hope this helps!

    Olive oil heat protectant?

Olive oil moisturizing lotion. can this product opt for a heat protectant? if not can the Pink hair lotion be a heat protectant? because i ran out of the actual spray and need a substitute. thanks a billion ps i have kinky ethnic hairOlive oil heat protectant?
No, they are not formulized to be used as heat as a heat protectant. you need to be sure that you use a product that is specifically for that purpose..Olive oil heat protectant?
Olive oil itself shouldn't be used as a heat protectant because oils and heat can make your hair burn and become heat damaged. However, Organic Root Stimulator olive oil moisturizer can be used (I use it and love it!). It leaves your hair feeling soft and light and bouncy.

Don't use Pink hair lotion. It dries out African American hair which leads to breakage.

    Olive Oil Gaining Weight?

hi, i want to gain some weight and I've found out that olive oil is very high in calories. I was wondering if olive oil should only be used when cooking foods or weather it can be taken on its own i.e drinking it.Olive Oil Gaining Weight?
Aside from having 120 calories per tablespoon, olive oil is very good for you. It has 14 grams of ft per tbspn and only 2 grams of saturated fat, 0 cholesterol, 0 sodium, 0 carbs.

So go for it, it's good for your heart too. Better to add olive oil as your ';fat'; to all your cooking than butter/margarine or any other type of oil.

Use it on salads, in soups, to flavour plain rice, potatos, pasta, chicken, marinades, etc., and ONLY use EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil which comes from the first pressing and has the most nutrients.Olive Oil Gaining Weight?
I guess I should have said no to the drinking it! LOL Besides why drink it when you can just add a little extra to food. Drinking it will give you the runs as will any oil. Not really recommended. Report Abuse

What you want to gain is muscle mass, and not fat. Thats what olive oil will do, besides it will cause damage to your heart. it might be healthy but as long as you have it with a salad or in your food do not drink it. Try exercising and eating alot of protein not just binging of saturated fat.
it can be taken with salads as dressing combined with balsamic vinegar...or had this way with bread....i do not recommend drinking it....coz too much of oil is not good for you,to build ur muscle mass do weights and have high protein diet...much safer than drinking oil!
Olive oil is the exact same calories as all fats,

Whether it be olive, corn, peanut oil, or even butter.

Olive oil is the recommended fat because it is high in Omega 3s and won't cause artery clogging.

There are 2 types of weight - muscle and fat .

Do you care ? Are you just trying to put anything on or are you looking for muscle ?

For muscle eat lots of grilled meats , veggies, fruits and grains AND get very active, soccer or volleyball or swimming or weights at the gym. Get your body active and put in lots of nutrition.

You just want fat ? Park at McDonalds %26amp; eat all day.
Ya you can drink it if you want to **** your pants........

    Olive oil on hair?

does this make your hair grow, or does it just add shine? I really would like my hair to grow faster then a half an inch a month. If it does make your hair grow, how exactly would you apply it?

If you know any other remedies please don't hestitate to share :) thanks.

10pts for best answer.Olive oil on hair?
this comes from personally experience.. olive oil works wonders... try mixing a little bit of castor oil in it if u can.. it will work without it too.. warm it a bit.. not too much.. and just apply it all over ur scalp and till ur hair tip.. before rinsing.. just wrap a warm towel (dip it warm water and squeeze out the water) and keep it for sometime.. this gives the steam to the hair.. then rinse it.. ur hair becomes really smooth and shiny. it does help in the growth as well.. but for growth ur diet is wat is the most important thing though...Olive oil on hair?
check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:-- How can you get a faster hair growth

    http://geebal.blogspot.com/2007/01/hair-鈥?/a>
olive oil will not make your hair grow faster, unfortunately nothing will.some people condition their hair with olive oil.
Probably not the answer you're looking for, but from the time I got pregnant until the time I gave birth, my hair grew nearly nine inches.

I might get pregnant again, just for long, shiny hair.
okay, it would make your hair softer. but heres the thing: DONT EVER PUT A LOT. and dont put it in one direct spot. youu will get BAD DANDRUFF. :) bad bad experience.

if you want your hair shinier and softer, use the kind of conditioner for those types of things (sorry forgot the name i think it was sunsilk) and then leave a teensy bit in when you get out of the shower, make sure that its around the tips though, not the scalp
it won't make ur hair grow faster, it will just make ur hair look oily
Nothing has ever be proven to make hair grow faster, the person that discovers that remedy will be VERY rich indeed! An Olive oil treatment is a great way to add shine to you hair though!
just take a little bit in the palm of your hand and take your two fingers and rub it into your scalp

massage your scalp with it and then rub in the access in the rest of your hair

its makes it feel and look good

idk if it will grow but it does kinda smell odd when you put it on but you get used to it
IT JUST ADDS SHINE!I TRIED IT u just buy the bottle then put some in ur fingers then on ur hair that easy!=)
No, it won't make it grow any faster. Nothing will, but you can keep your hair in tip top shape with a multivitamin and healthy diet. A daily scalp massage will help increase blood flow to the scalp, which may encourage growth.

Olive oil is pretty much just for moisture/shine.
mane and tail shampoo are good for stretching your hair to it's full potential and olive oil makes it shine only.
Seriously prenatal vitamins make your hair grow fast. Olive oil is good for shine and making hair more manageable.

P.S. Or just vitamins period just seem like prenatals work faster. Oh yeah keep your ends clipped and a lot of heat off your head
yeah it really does a nice job of making it shiny but i heard if u put the olive oil in and massage ur scalp it could like wake up ur follicles and make ur hair grow faster
I dont think it makes it grow but it does make it feel really nice and look nice too

  • Olive oil vs. lemon juice??

im planning on lightening my hair by either olive oil or lemon juice but i have a few questions before i do.

    1. wich one works best to get my hair from honey-nut brown to a hoey blonde??

    2. would it look good on a girl that has wavy/curly hair 5 in longer than her shoulders?

    3. How many times do i have to apply it to my hair??

    4. anything else i nned to know??

thx for all your answers.Olive oil vs. lemon juice??
1st of all lemon juice and olive oil work in opposite way.

for lightening ur hair use lemon. olive oil will never lighten ur hair

-olive oil is for mosturising ur hair and norushing it

-lemon is acidic so it has a drying effect so u'll need to mosturise ur hair more to keep it soft

-put fresh lemon juice on ur hair and let it dry naturally in the sun. if the result is not what u expected, u can add more juice.Olive oil vs. lemon juice??
I'm not sure olive oil or lemon can lighten your hair, altough olive oil is used as hair treatment mask. Try consider application of peroxyde, you'll probably only need oxygen at 20% switching from light brown to medium blonde and your hair wont be that much damaged (hopefully).
i have brown wavy/curly hair and i sometimes use lemon juice in my hair. it does work but it shows up better if u go outside in the sun afterwards. sometimes it makes ur hair sticky though depending on how much u put in and how u do it. u would have to do it every time u get ur hair wet though cuz it will wash out.
first olive oil makes ur hair darker and lemon juice makes it lighter but it really dries ur hair

try using camomile they really work and makes ur hair softer trust me
    http://www.kidzworld.com/article/5859-ge鈥?/a>

Probably the olive oil will work better since your hair is brown. Lemon juice works better for blondes. Try the olive oil once and then use the lemon juice about 2 days later. 鈾mily
i think olive oil is used to help get the frizz out of your hair not to make it lighter..
Use peroxide it works better. But lemons smell better.
lemon juice because olive oil is used to get the frizz out of your hair adn that does not lighten but lemon juice does use it 2 times a week untill yuo get the hair color you want

    Olive Oil for Cats?

I have two cats, and I have heard that for health and coat reasons it is a good idea to mix in a little olive oil with their food.

Has anyone else done this, or does any know of any health concerns that might arise if I gave a little olive oil to my cats.

For a little information, the eldest is 18 months old and the youngest is 8 months old.Olive Oil for Cats?
Salmon oil is probably the best to use with cats as it's from a meat source. If the cats like the olive oil that would be the next best choice. Cod liver oil is not a good choice as it contains too much Vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin which, if given in excess, will be stored in the cat's liver and can cause problems.

When I do my raw meat diet I add one salmon oil capsule per lb. of meat. So keep the amount small whatever you use.Olive Oil for Cats?
Actually Salmon Oil or any kind of fish oil is horrible for cats, especially male cats. Any kind of seafood causes the crystals in the urine to clump up and cause uretha blockage which could kill them!!!! Stick with the olive oil Report Abuse

You've heard correctly about the health and coat benefits of giving your cats a little olive oil in their food. Just be careful not to overdo it so you don't give the cats the trots.
cod liver oil and sardines are both very good for their coats.
I've heard of it. It doesn't ring any alarm bells in particular......I'll have to research it and get back to you.

I do know that fish oil is good for the same thing. It will improve skin/coat condition, may be of help with hairballs, and might even aid digestion (all per my new vet).

I've started adding some to my two cats' diet but it's only been a couple of days so I haven't seen any change yet.

EDIT: Ok, no need to research! ';Old Cat Lady'; once again has the correct answer. You're good to go!
Olive oil is the healthiest oil in the world and there is no problem at all in giving it to your cat.
Olive oil is fairly heavy, I wouldn't use it. My vet recommends canola oil--a 1/4 teaspoon on the food twice a week. No cod liver oil, it's too heavy for cats and depleats their body of vitamin A if given on a regular basis. The liver has to process the oil being taken in and can have a hard time with the heavier oils.

Primrose oil (one caplet twice a week) or flax oil (same dose) are both lighter oils. But actually the best I've found is Derm Caps, which you can get from the vets. It's $8 for 30 caplets in my area.

But if your cats don't have dry coats or dandruff on the back or hip area, they're getting enough through what they're already eating to be ok.
The only problem I can think of is the fact that oil is very fattening. So if you do use it in their diet then make sure it is in very small amounts. Other than that I don't believe there are any health concerns.

I would have thought it would be easier for you, and better for them, to make sure that they have a very good quality complete food that contains oily fish.
if you have your cat on a good quality cat food you dont need to add extra things to their diet for skin and coat
interesting Q ,as I spilled olive oil and a cat(not mine :( ) loved it!!

good idea to mix it in with food.

also they get good omega oils in fish.salmon ect

and you will have no prob getting them to eat that!

Olive oil, consume or not 2 consume?

Is it true having olive oil helps to give healthy looking skin?Olive oil, consume or not 2 consume?
Yes, olive oil is great in moderation.

Consume!!!!Olive oil, consume or not 2 consume?
well it is healthier than most oils

its got the whole omega 3 thing and thats protein

if you wash your hair with it it makes it soft and shiny

Olive Oil, what are it's uses?

What Can we use Olive oil for?, we all know that you can use it for cooking obviously, but what are its other uses?. For example, i've heard u can use it on your face as a moisturizer, and that u can drink it, what does drinking olive oil do for your body? what are it's uses? Olive Oil, what are it's uses?
I'm not sure about the face but I know it's a great conditioner for your hair.Olive Oil, what are it's uses?
regarding drinking olive oil - there is this body cleansing procedure that involves drinking olive oil and lying in a few specific positions (the entire thing takes about 2-3 days) so that when you'll eventually go to the toilet you'll get rid of small kidney stones and save yourself the future surgical removal.
im not really sure about drinking...seems kinda gross...but warm olive oil massages are very good for you.other then that, olive oil is used to strengthen nails.yes,it is used as a moisurizer.its used in medicines as a softening agent because its a substance with very low allergic properties.it's also known to reduce the risk of heart disease as it is high in monosaturated fats.

Whats better for really dry hair, olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil?

and what does it do? thanks!!

ps were can i buy itWhats better for really dry hair, olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil?
olive oil is really good. buy a cheap regular bottle of it at the grocery store and while you are in the shower, coat your hair with it and ';wash'; with hot water. bring your hair up in a bun with a hair tie or sumthin. then, after you step out of the shower, just leave it in for whatever time you have..be it 5 mins or a couple days.

if you have the money, get this stuff: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a> it's coconut and alma oil, which has been used in india for so long for beautiful, shiny hair. i use both and this is definitely way better %26amp; smells amazing, but it's more expensive.Whats better for really dry hair, olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil?
olive oil is best; in general olive oil is lighter abd a better lubicator. in the hair it also helps hold moister in better.
None....... I had really dry hair before. All you need is a decent shampoo and conditioner like the new Herbel Essences - Hello Hydration... there colourful bottles (this one is blue) you can buy them at any drug store, or a store like wal-mart.
I know olive oil is good but I'm not sure about the rest. The Body Shop has a set of shampoo %26amp; conditioner made from olive oil so that might be of use to you.
olive oil. it makes the hair silky and shiny.
olive oil is very good but since i live in a hot and humid country i feel its a bit sticky.so i prefer almond oil,its light and gives your hair a '' wet look''. homemade coconut oils are also very good and nourishing and helps hair growth.
olive oil that's the best it helps the hair in grocery stores
None, invest in a really good shampoo and conditioner.

What you are talking about here are old wives tales that do nothing but make your hair oily or greasy. You'll end up have to use a clarifying shampoo to remove all that crap just so that your conditioner can do it's job.

I recommend L'oreal Profession Intense Repair shampoo and conditioner. Costs about $40-$50 for both but if used correctly will last about 2 1/2 - 3 months.

Unless your hair gets oily overnight only wash every other day if not every three days. This will prevent a lot of the dryness. Execessive washing strips your hair of the natural conditioners and causes the dryness that your seeing.

    Good luck
I don't know about the rest of the oils, but based on experience, I would go for extra virgin olive oil. you can find it at any local grocery store and the softness and sheen in your hair lasts for hours.

  • Do you laugh when somebody says ';Olive Oil?';?

If you laugh most when somebody named Pauline says ';Olive Oil'; you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!Do you laugh when somebody says ';Olive Oil?';?
    yes, RICKIE, I do!!

Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you, this olive oil? Did you think that it was something I was gonna do, with olive oil? Don't try to tell me what do, don't try to tell me what to say. You're better off without my olive oil!

I've heard olive oil makes your hair less dry..?

but what do i actually do with it? haI've heard olive oil makes your hair less dry..?
yep. you can use it as a deep conditioner or a finishing serum.

    to deep condition:

-saturate your hair with olive oil.

    -cover with a shower cap.

    -leave it on over night.

-in the morning shampoo it twice or as many times as it takes to get the oil out.

apply a pea sized amount to your ends to add shine and moisture, don't apply too much or else your hair will look oily.I've heard olive oil makes your hair less dry..?
Yes it works WONDERS!! I have no idea why people say itmakes your hair greasy because you wash it out afterwards?? Lol okay here's exactly what you do. Get a small container like a bowl and take some extra virgin olive oil, put about 4 table spoons of it or more depending on how long your hair is. Put that in the microwave for 15-25 seconds then let it cool. *note its much much easier to do it with dry hair so i suggest you do this with it dry but its up to you* You'll need a clip or ponytail so you can put it up in layers when you put it in your hair. Start at the bottom layer and pull the rest up with your clip. Begin putting it in at the roots and work it down until all of that piece is totally saturated . Repeat that with all the layers then once your done comb all of your hair and if there's any left rub it in. Heat up a towel in the dryer or microwave and wrap it around ur head. Leave it in for about an hour and a half. After that wash it out by shampooing twice and it u want condition. Just make sure you rinse it really good. While your washing it might not feel soft or anything just because of the oil. Be careful while your doing this too, so you don't get it on the floor. Good luck!!
You would want to use it as a conditioner and apply it your hair after shampooing. Deep conditioner works well. You can use this as often as you'd like (every day if you want). After shampooing, remove all excess moisture from hair, then apply a generous amount (palm-full) of deep conditioner to your hair, and leave it in for at least 15 minutes before rinsing it out. Not coloring your hair and avoiding heat styling tools, like hair dryers and straightening irons, also helps a lot.
Yes it does in india alot of people put olive oil in their hair.

You can just get a small amount of oil and put it on the end of your hair just by rubbing it in.

But you can actually get hair oil which smells nice.

    Good luck
Yea it does make your hair less dry and it even makes it shiny. but i don't know what you do with it.
don't do it. it just causes a big mess.
Olive oil makes your hair overly greasy. Just get a hair mask.

How to use olive oil in my hair?

Well, olive oil is really good for your hair mostly because it hydrates it. To do it properly, you should add an egg into a mixture with about a fourth of a cup of olive oil. Then, if you want, add a little bit of mayo to the mixture (it also hydrates really well). And if you want, add a little bit of lavender oil to the mix. It helps stop damaging to the hair. I hope i helped you!How to use olive oil in my hair?
put it in your hair, then wrap your hair in a warm towel out the dryer.

wait fifteen minutes, go take a shower while in there put vinegar after you shampoo once. then shampoo again. put conditioner on only the tips then rinse out. blow dry as usual.

Never heard of olive oil on the skin but the only thing I can think it would do is make your skin even more oily than you said it already is.

I have dark circles too. The way I get rid of them in using a concealer pen, one of the ones you click the ends to get the cream on the brush tip. I use these because they reflect light and blend and look more natural.

Anyway, I put my cream foundation on, then powder, then I apply the cream pen concealer. I dab little amounts along where the dark circles are and then I use my ring finger to blend in. Why ring finger? Because it's the only finger you can't press hard with when blending so therefore ends up with a more natual blend.

Hope that heps in some ways. As you said you also wanted younger skin, it would be ideal to use the concealer in the places you have deep lines.. i.e jaw crease, at the edge of your nose.

the only time I use olive oil is on my baby's scalp for her really dry skin, this will just make your skin more oily than it already is and may give you acne. For dark circles cool cucumbers for an hour or better yet visit a beauty salon and have a facial they can do wonders tell them your problems and they will work out what type of facial you will need.
    Try this all-natural product

  • Can You Substitute Vaulve oil with olive oil?

If not is there any way to make vaulve oil or anything i could use instead? Can You Substitute Vaulve oil with olive oil?
NO! Valve oil is a special kind of oil manufactured specific to trumpets. Slide oil (for trombones) can be used in an emergency but should be cleaned after it's use and re-lubricated with valve oil since slide oil is thicker and can gum up the trumpet valves if left unchanged.

Does extra virgin olive oil expire?

If it is not sealed well it can. Once opened it definitely can. I have eaten 2001 vintage EVOO within the past year and it tasted fine. Although after about the 2 year mark it starts to go down hill on average.Does extra virgin olive oil expire?
Italian law states that olive oil expires two years after date of harvest. This is the recommended period of time supported by all producers.

If it's older than two years I would suggest buying a new bottle. It may not hurt you to use but you will notice a much better taste in fresh oil.Does extra virgin olive oil expire?
Yes Kris it does. Should have a date on it. Also no direct sunlight or high heat, in the fridge is ours.

Are you aware it helps your eye brows grow? LOL True.
They say approximately 18 months is the shelf life. Also if the olive oil tastes buttery, then it has gone rancid..........

I think that olive oil is much better in general, especially for eating, but coconut oil has good uses too. Coconut oil is very good for your skin and hair. I find it easier to apply since it's solid when you take it from the jar, and it will melt in your hands.
Olive oil will nourish, condition, and improve the strength and elasticity of your hair. Olive oil is an excellent moisturizer for dry hair....

  • Vegetable oil versus Olive oil?

For cooking is olive oil better than corn or vegetable oil?Vegetable oil versus Olive oil?
Olive oil is good for you, but it has a low smoke point so it's not very good for frying, and it has a strong flavor so you may not want to use it in some recipes. Canola oil has a less strong flavor, higher smoke point and, like olive oil, is high in monounsaturated fat, so is also very healthy too. Use it where olive oil doesn't meet your needs.

Corn oil is low in monounsaturated fats, so not as healthy for you. Vegetable oil is usually a combination - check the label for fat makeup.Vegetable oil versus Olive oil?
it depends on what you are doing.

If you are sauteing or sweating items, or even just cooking with very little oil in a skillet, then olive oil is my preference. it has a light flavor that doesn't get in the way of the other flavors when cooking meats or veg.

If you are frying things like potatoes for hash browns or fries/chips, or baking corn bread, then vegetable or corn oil will be a better choice since it has a higher temperature threshold and is much less expensive than olive oil. plus it seems to work better with bread/breaded items.

Typically I prefer corn oil over standard vegetable oil because it has a lighter flavor, but it is really a matter of preference.
If you're baking or frying something, use the vegetable oil, but otherwise, use olive oil, preferrably extra virgin olive oil, it's so much more healthier for you, and it's got more flavor.
I've always heard that olive oil is healthier, and I have never noticed a difference in flavor. Olive oil seems to be more expensive, though, so I usually use vegetable oil in my baking.
The health benefits of olive oil are lost when heated to high temp such as for frying. Peanut oil or coconut oil are better alternatives for high heat cooking but olive oil is great for salad dressings and marinades
Olive oil has more flavor and is a good fat. Vegtable oil is very bland and fattening. I only use vegtable oil for frying and baking. Other than that olive oil for everything else.
I think it comes out to preference. As long as they are not hydrogolized, which makes them heart unfriendly. Olives are still vegetables.
Versus egine oil versus bottom oil versus baby oil.
I don't buy corn oil any more. I find that Canola oil is wonderful and cheaper than Olive oil, or EVOO {Extra Virgin Olive Oil}.
olive oil brings more flavor, especially extra virgin olive oil.
Olive oil for better health though it cost more than vegetable and corn oil.
It is better for you health wise but as for deep frying you need to use vegetable oil.
Principel is olive so now only that.
    more flavor: vegie

    healthier: olive

    never heard of corn.
I keep both handy, veg oil is better for frying
    olive oil is the healthiest.
    it is healthier

    It is called Oliva nuney

It is pure of its kind.
    Just call ';Olive Oil';.

Vegetable oil or olive oil to tan???

I am sure either or world attract the sun like a mad man (and perhaps burn your skin, not only sun burn but actual burn) and I would think that it would clog your pores too.... Id stick to a tanning oil with a little bit of an spf in it...Vegetable oil or olive oil to tan???
Vegetable oil if you want carrot colored cancer, olive oil if you want an olive colored cancer.

Do not use either, I did that when I was younger and I have some moles now that some may turn into cancer, the doctor informed me that I have to keep an eye on 2 near my stomach area because they appear that they can become melanoma. I am 41 now but I used the oil in my early 20's. If that gives you an idea of how soon problems can arise, and these moles began to appear within 2 yrs after I used the oil. Sun itself is no good, you want to get a tan, use sunless tanning and go into the sun for a bit with it on, it will speed up the tanning process and make you look like you have a nice tropical tan- Just make sure you apply it evenly and wash your hands after applying it so your hands do not stain.Vegetable oil or olive oil to tan???
Oil will make you burn, and that's why some people get a great looking result from using any form to tan with under UV lights or outdoors. These people often also have an existing olive tone to their skin, and while they look pretty now, they won't in as few as five years. Skin can be irreparably damaged by sun burn, expecially when you speed up the damage with oils. Cancer is the most common effect of doing these silly things, which, when you're younger seem fun.

Try using a false tanner, in our salon we use St Tropez, and recommend Palmer's COcoa Tanner and Bronzer for home use. It's cheaper, and you won't have wrinkles, skin spots and cancer to worry about either.
Dont use vegetable or olive oil, they will damage your skin. Buy some real tanning oil that has stuff in it to protect your skin from burning but will tan you at the same time.
no i havent but i really wouldnt because it could burn your skin faster i think.

maybe I'll try it but i dont want to smell like olives or those italians will eat me

Buy a good conditioner from your stylist...but if you must, buy any olive oil, put it on the ends and wrap hair in hot (wrung out) towel, then place around hair for 30 minutes. Remove owel and thoroghly wash hair and condition.Confused with olive oil?
I would not put oil in my hair if I were you. That is going to be soooo hard to rinse out, your hair will smell like olive oil, and it's not really good for you, it will just make it look shiney. I would try that hair glazing kit for at home. I tried the John Frieda clear glaze, and just put it on my hair while it was dry and unwashed, kept it on for about 35 mins, and shampoo and conditioned out. My hair was really shiney.

If you want to take a natural approach, avocado and egg works well, without leaving your hair greasy.

If you are willing to spend a little more money, this Restorative Hair Treatment by Ojon (you can find it at sephora.com) works really, really well. It moisturizes and helps keep hair manageable and shiney. Also, this Smooth Infustion shampoo and conditioner by Aveda really is great.
I am using olive oil n believe be me it鈥檚 the best for you鈥檙e any hair problem (dandruff, hair fall, dryness). I don鈥檛 know my olive oil now but its start from B and its spin made also its 100% pure oil.

Can chicken be fried in olive oil?

You can saute chicken in olive oil, and I do often, but if you are making true fried chicken, you'll want to use regular corn or veg oil. Olive is too expensive and has a lower smoke point to use for deep frying, not to mention the more robust flavor of olive oil that you would not want to impart to fried foods. Can chicken be fried in olive oil?
Yes, chicken can be fired in most any oil, but for maximum flavor I prefer lard, if you're not worried about what they call healthy diet cooking. Can chicken be fried in olive oil?
No, I wouldnt do it. It would probably start smoking too bad. Use canola or peanut oil, or vegetable oil, or crisco.
yes.... but becareful because olive oil cannot be heated as hot as vegetable or corn oil or else it will burn. Which also makes me think that if the temp is not high enough your chicken might be a bit greasy
Yes, but not too hot. Olive oil is the best and healthiest oil there is for most uses except deep frying. We pan fry everything in Olive Oyl.
yes - but I usually just bake it with olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt/pepper
yes it can, just watch the temperature, so you don't burn the oil. Cook it in small batches
    Yep...do it all the time!
of course and its healthy for u. u dont need a whole lot

    Ya!

    Of course it can

i know it's bad for olive oil to get so heated and was wondering if it's a good idea to keep using it in instant brownies? they taste good with it but i don't know if they're as healthy..

should i buy canola instead?Use of olive oil in baking?
It is fine to use olive oil in baking. And to set the record straight, no oil should be heated and eaten. But we have done it for bzillions of years. The oil changes when it is heated and some of the good takes on changes in the heating process. So it isn't good for our veins. So if you are baking use the oil you have on hand, olive oil is fine in baking and healthier than other oils. Use of olive oil in baking?
I agree with Toffy,In olive oil producing country's they use olive oil for every thing they cook or bake. You will be amazed how delicious every thing is,they use it in making deserts also, they would never think of using something else.

I can assure you that it's just fine, healthy and delicious,
yes, get canola oil. Extra-virgin olive oil is too expensive to waste in baking, and it changes the flavor. You're talking about brownies here, so healthy is an oxymoron
I would, just for the flavor if nothing else. I don't know about the chemical breakdown if it's bad, but it doesn't sound good.
You do not use olive oil in brownies. Use a neutral flavored oil, like canola oil.

Can you make eggs with olive oil?

i have no butter =(Can you make eggs with olive oil?
Yes you can, but don't let it get too hot.Can you make eggs with olive oil?
Sure you can! Just don't heat any higher than medium heat. If you love the taste of olive oil you can wipe out the pan with a piece of Italian bread to eat along with your eggs. Yum!
Sure - no problem with that. If you are using a non-stick pan, put a nickel sized drop in the pan and swirl around to coat. You'll need more for a regular pan (and depending on pan size.)
Yes, you can. For every egg (like a large egg), a tsp of olive oil should be fine.
not too sure about olive oil, i'd have thought you would need chickens or similar
    definitely
    sure---they're good!
Of course... olive oil is good.

Extra virgin olive oil for the face??

does it work as a moisturizer!? can i leave it all night ?Extra virgin olive oil for the face??
It would work, but depending on your skin type you might get clogged pores. I use Olive and Aloe lotion from Kiss My Face in the winter months, and love it. I'm a natural blonde with fair skin. During the summer, since my skin is naturally more moist, I just use it around my eyes. If I use it all over during the summer months I'll break out.Extra virgin olive oil for the face??
I've used it as a moisturizer before. Your skin will be really soft and glowy in the morning, but it smells kinda funny. I think it would clog your pores if you use it everyday though. I usually make a scrub mixing brown sugar and olive oil. Then wash it off. Some of the olive oil will stay on your skin to moisturize it.
If anything it will just make you really greasy and probably smell like a chip pan.

    Just use proper moisturiser :)
    no dont use

    use wheatgerm oil

Has any1 tried olive oil 2 take ur makeup off? if so do u like it?

Oil blocks your skin from breathing and when wiping your make-up off, pushes it into your pores. Voila, face full of pimples. Just use an actual make-up remover, or a good cleanser like Neutrogena.Has any1 tried olive oil 2 take ur makeup off? if so do u like it?
nopeHas any1 tried olive oil 2 take ur makeup off? if so do u like it?
I have tried it. It works well, but it is extremely runny, smells a little funny, and leaves a weird film on my eyes. It is good if you are going straight to bed.

A better and cheaper alternative would be Vaseline or any generic petroleum jelly. Just spread it on where your makeup is, leave it for about 20 seconds, and swipe off with a cotton ball. The makeup all comes off in one swipe.
any oil like baby oil or even vegetable oil will do the trick, and so will vaseline =]

but it makes my eyes feel kind of weird =S

    gd luck

    x

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil for my dog...?

I have a 7 month old lab/rott/shepard mix. He is very active and healthy. He weighs about 55-60lbs. For the past few months I have been putting 1 cap of extra virgin olive oil in his food. His coat is amazing and his dandruff is gone.

Is this healthy for my dog as long as I don't over do it?Extra Virgin Olive Oil for my dog...?
yes yes yes it also helps ';keep them regular ';Extra Virgin Olive Oil for my dog...?
Usually olive oil is fine, but continued use may be too heavy for his liver to process every day. Phone your vet to ask about the quantity and the daily use. You don't want to over stress his organs.
The best will be the omega3 salmon oil caps, designed to supplement a diet.

You can find them at Puritans Pride

thanksDoes olive oil make ur hair thicker?
olive oil is very healthy for eating and especially with regards to moisturizing (that's why its in many creams...)

if you put it on dry hair for like an hour or so and then wash it out PROPERLY other wise you'll have oily hair.... your hair wil definitely be more shiny and it wil be moisturizedDoes olive oil make ur hair thicker?
there is really nothing you can do to make your hair thicker--unfortunately youre born with the hair type youre going to have forever. but olive oil does make your hair healthier and restores it therefore giving it the appearance of being thicker.
It maks it shinier, and if you have seriously overdryed hair, then use it. Otherwise, it just makes your hair look greasy. Sorry i couldn't help more.
just put it on your hair after you have a shower(wet hair)

Keep it on for like a day

    maybe like a handful
