If I use honey or olive oil for my hair...?

If I wanted to use honey or olive oil for my hair.. How is the best way to do it??

Would I apply It first thing after I got into the shower, then shampoo it or apply it after I shampoo it and then rinse?

Would it make my hair all sticky??

Do I HAVE to mix them in with conditioner??

I'm confused, help please! If I use honey or olive oil for my hair...?
Olive oil and honey are natural conditioners.

Conditioners purpose is to seal in moisture by coating the outer layer of a hair strand called the cuticle.

Hair has three layers (cuticle is outermost, then cortex, then medulla). Some conditioners are better than others at seeping into innermost layers. Water is the best moisturizer and the conditioners keep the moisturizer in. Oils like olive oil is mostly just a sealant from what I understand. So the order you moisturize is important.

First. Shampoo. If you have a lot of build up use a carifying shampoo.

2nd. Soak hair. Apply any moisturizers at this point NOT a conditioner. Moisturizers are materials that can seep into hair. Coconut oil is good for this as it has very small molecules.

3rd. Seal in moisture with olive oil and honey The way I mix the two: I use mostly olive oil and a few tablespoons of honey. They don't mesh but I heat them in the microwave and apply to hair all over. The heat makes it a deep conditioner. Leave in for 45 minutes for a deep treatment or 15 minutes for just conditioner.

4th. You can mix them with any conditioner you want you feel is a good one but they work on their own. I like adding some Pantene to mine.

5th. Wash out with cold water to help seal cuticles. NOT shampoo since this will strip hair all over again. Water should get most of the oilyness out.

6th. Apply some leave in conditioner on top if you want.

I haven't heard anything about milk. And honey won't make your hair sticky if you only add a little. If I use honey or olive oil for my hair...?
i wouldnt do milke. i heard beer is good for ur hair it makes it shine. my moms a hair dresser i dont recommend putting honey in ur hair thats gross ur gonna be a mess and have to cut it. i read about the oil the other day i would put it in ur conditioner or use a small amt of it like one time a month or a few times a month.

on a low setting or leave it on overnight. rinse it
